Founder of Kid-Safe Productions

tricia founderTricia Myles Dutcher has a Bachelor of Arts Degree with a double major in Theater Production and Music Composition and holds a Diploma in Recorded Music Production. A devoted mom to her 12 year old son, Tricia also is responsible for running the administration of Kid-Safe, as well as the researching and writing of all scripts, music and lyrics. Occasionally, Tricia will perform for the company. In her off-time, she enjoys working for the Royal Conservatory of Music as a Learning Through The Arts (LTTA) teacher and is the chairperson for the City of Toronto's Coalition for the Awareness and Prevention of Bullying.

Before starting Kid-Safe Productions, her behind-the-scenes experience in the entertainment field ranged from working in sound, lighting, costumes and design to Black-light puppetry. She also enjoyed working as an in-house sound technician at the University of Guelph. On stage, she shone while acting and singing in amateur theatre productions and had the rare opportunity to perform with French Canadian singing star Veronique Beliveau as a back-up singer. (Remember that song "Love Power"?) She's made personal appearances around Toronto with her original adult contemporary music compositions and has worked as a children's entertainer both as a piano player and singer. Public appearances at social services celebratory events (such as the 100th anniversary of the Catholic Children's Aid Society) has gotten her recognized as "a singer/songwriter with heart". Tricia has also performed and spoken at various Bullying Awareness Events, most recently the Durham Region Kick Off to Bullying Awareness Week 2008 and at Toronto's Bullying Awareness Week 2008 where she introduced Toronto Mayor, David Miller.

Tricia with Mayor Miller

Another important piece of Tricia's development occurred during her earlier career working in the social services field. Saddened by the extreme cases of abuse and neglect she witnessed, Tricia always wished there was more she could do to help. Today, she is blending all of her talents and experiences and offers a unique service that is personal and allows her to make a distinctive difference in the lives of children
