Helping to Put the Odds
of Safety in Our Children's Favour
|

Approximately one in four children
is being exposed to some form of
unwanted sexual experience before
reaching the age of 18.
|
Kid-Safe Productions was originally developed to address
a growing need for community education on the subject of child abuse, and in
response to the Ontario Government's recent pledge to support the efforts of
Childhood Sexual Abuse Prevention in Ontario Schools.
|

"The safety and protection of Ontario's children
is a top priority for our government."
- Attorney General Jim Flaherty, April 7, 2000 - |
Today, Kid-Safe Productions continues to develop
new productions and services which now include musical plays on Bullying Awareness, Abuse Prevention and Character Education. Also included in our services are the Sing-Song for Safety (for daycare and smaller audiences), Drama/Empathy Workshops (for junior, intermediate and high school students). We also offer fundraising, colouring booklets and a fun and interactive musical CD on Personal Space.
|

"It is believed that by teaching children about self-esteem
and giving them the basic tools needed to protect themselves
from incidents of abuse as early as possible that this
will aid drastically in the preventative milieu. The more
information our children are exposed to, the better able
they will be to walk safely in our unpredictable world."
- Dawn Forrest, R.N., B.S.W., C.S.W. - |
Tricia Myles
Dutcher, founder of Kid-Safe
Productions, writes all the music, songs and lyrics and co-writes
the scripts for the plays with other experienced playwrights.
We always enlist the expertise of professionals in the
community (such as Dr. Ken Rigby, international researcher and foremost authority on bullying behaviour) during the creative process of each of our musical plays.
